Ramashish Ray is the guiding star behind Starscapes, India’s premier astrotourism & stargazing collective. With over 17 years of experience in academic research, teaching, and science communication, Ray blends rigorous astronomy with the wonder of the night sky.
Through public engagements, observatory programmes, and astrocamps, Ray brings Starscapes’ mission to life—creating encounters where people don’t just observe the skies, but feel the cosmos in conversation with them. Whether through telescope nights under remote observatories, astro-photography workshops, or school outreach, his aim is to awaken curiosity and build community rooted in awe and knowledge.
For more than a decade and a half, Ray has led students, amateur astronomers, school groups, and families through the universe’s mysteries—always emphasizing clarity, inclusivity, and respect for dark skies. His vision is that Starscapes makes astronomy accessible, authentic, and inspiring for learners of all ages.
When not hosting a skywatch or explaining nebulae, Ray spends time refining hands-on experiential programmes, mentoring young science communicators, and helping stars not just be seen—but felt.
