OVERVIEW

International Dark Sky Week is celebrated globally in the New Moon week of April, which falls from 15th to 22nd of April this year.

Started in 2003, the event aims to raise awareness about the night sky, the eco-system that thrives in the dark on Earth and the universe that exists beyond our planet, which we can see in all its glory if only there was no artificial lighting.

Endorsed by the International Dark-Sky Association, astronomy enthusiasts globally commemorate this week with activities ranging from just switching off lights to witness the majestic firmament above, to holding stargazing sessions and astrophotography workshops to explore the skies further.

For a second year in a row, Starscapes joins in the celebration, bringing the dark sky to you, through activities throughout the week and beyond.
