NAKSHATRA SABHATM

India Astronomy Convention · 2026

The Assembly of the Stars

Dholavira, Gujarat 11–12 December 2026 Two Nights · Bortle-2 Skies
Edition I · A Partnership Invitation
India named the stars long before it named itself.

For millennia we mapped the sky into nakshatras and built a civilisation that looked up. Now, as India returns to space, a generation is rediscovering that wonder. Nakshatra Sabha — IAC2026 is where ancient awe meets the space age — a nation gathered, once more, beneath its own stars.

The Story So Far

Nakshatra Sabha isn't just a name. It's an emotion.

It began in the mountains of Uttarakhand — India's first astro-tourism campaign, born from a partnership between the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and Starscapes. Across a year-long journey through the state's darkest skies — George Everest in Mussoorie, the deodar forests of Takula, the ridgelines above Rudraprayag — Nakshatra Sabha gathered families, students, scientists and travellers from across India and the world, simply to look up together.

It grew into something larger than an event: a movement that reconnected a nation with its own night sky, and a name people now know, love and trust.
