For ten days a month the Moon rules the skies in a way that rivals the Sun. Treat yourself to a 30-minute session exploring Earth's celestial companion. Cap it off with a Moon Map to carry home observed through our 8-inch Dobsonian Telescope.

The observatory is open throughout the year, but the best time for stargazing is during the winter months (October to March) when the sky is clearer and free from monsoon clouds. Summer months are great for Himalayan observation and solar shows.

It is advisable to bring warm clothing, especially during night sessions, as temperatures in Kausani can drop significantly. Carrying a notebook for notes and a camera for capturing the experience is also recommended. We provide all telescope equipment on-site.
Yes, visitors are welcome to bring their own telescopes. However, the observatory provides high-quality, professional telescopes including our 8-inch Dobsonian, so personal equipment is not necessary for an immersive experience.
